FAQs: Pick-Your-Own
Our designated Pick-Your-Own field contains numerous herbs, flowers, hot peppers, and more. Shareholders have open access to this field during pick-up hours. Shareholders on a biweekly schedule have access only during their pick-up weeks.
The grassy areas around the PYO field, picnic tables and seating are available for our shareholders during pick-up hours. Please relax and enjoy our beautiful spaces!
Pruners and scissors are provided for shareholder use.
Please walk on designated pathways and be careful not to disturb or damage our spectacular flora.
‘Be kind and leave some behind’. Shareholders will be given plastic pint containers for raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries which all lie outside of the designated Pick-Your-Own Field. Please take no more each week (unless we communicate otherwise) so that other shareholders have access to these wonderful berries.
Shareholders have the option to customize their weekly produce lineup based on items available. You will receive a weekly email with a link so you can make changes and order add-on items.
If you forget to make these changes, the pick-up host or hostess will have a list of extra items which may be available. You will also have access to all of our ‘seconds’, which could include items from the previous weeks, extras, and items with a little more ‘character’ like splits or bruises.
If you are not able to pick up, your items will join our extra produce items being donated to food-insecure individuals in our community. We aim to minimize all food waste, so even if you can’t pick up your share, your items will find a home.
We are conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Lancaster’s bus route 16. Stop at the intersection of Jefferson and Duke streets and continue on Letort Road to the farm for easy, car-free access.
