In this popular series, Kevin Faccenda led a group around Homefields’ acreage, guiding folks to gather and recognize historic plants used as food (and our wildflowers). Different plants are introduced during each of Kevin’s walks. Core concepts of wild plant identification were covered through hands-on demonstration along with materials such as field guides and plant keys. The local and in-season wild plants which are most useful and tasteful edibles was the focus of the talk.
Kevin Faccenda is a student of botany at Millersville University. He is focusing on learning the plants of Southeast PA and has been studying plant identification for 8 years.
