Join us as we have a bonfire and journey through the constellations! Kate Wilson from the SciDome Theater at the North Museum will be our guide. Homefields will provide the makings for s’mores but you're invited to bring your own fixings for dinner over the fire. Kate will provide a telescope and you're encouraged to bring your own telescope or binoculars.
The stargazing portion will run from 7:00 to 8:00 pm with the bonfire from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. If it’s cloudy, we will hold an indoor video presentation in addition to the bonfire. If it's raining, this event will take place the following Friday, December 10.
The $15 charge is per individual or family. As we will cap attendance at 25 due to parking limitations, please email events@homefields.org with your phone number and the number in your party.
Kate Wilson has held many positions at the North Museum of Nature and Science for over 20 years. One of them is in the SciDome Theater, North Museum's planetarium. Kate has had a passion for astronomy ever since she moved from New York City to Lancaster, getting to enjoy the darker skies of the county as a little girl. Today, she loves to share that passion with others and teach about all of the wonders our universe holds. When not working at the North Museum, Kate likes to read, watch horror movies, and look for dark skies near her home in Landisville, with her husband Allan.
