Drumming Circle and Welcoming Fireflies

Nothing says “welcome summer” like the arrival of the fireflies!  Bring the family to Homefields for an evening of drumming as we watch the fields come alive with light. We’ll take a break from drumming to enjoy s’mores at the bonfire while learning about the natural history of fireflies and their unique biology.  Join us at the farm as we celebrate the start of summer surrounded by nature. Bring a favorite percussive instrument and we'll have extras available.

Leading the drumming circle will be local musician and music facilitator Elissa “Lisa” Fairman of Earth Rhythms LLC.

Art at the Farm

On May 11, Homefields will become a palette of arts for children and adults. This event will highlight local artists and feature art demonstrations by members of the PA Guild of Craftsmen. We'll have a blacksmith, painters, illustrators, jewelry artists and more—all demonstrating their unique craft. The Lancaster County Art association and Plein Air artists will be sketching and painting so you can see their progress or join in as you walk our beautiful organic farm.

Enjoy family-friendly activities such as nature journaling and vegetable stamp painting, and work with a Millersville University sculpture professor to create an ephemeral art sculpture using natural materials collected at the farm. Be inspired by Art at Homefields Care Farm!
