- Meet your farmers, visit guest farmer tents, and sample products.
- Go inside our greenhouses, visit the bee habitats, and beneficial insect hotels.
- Enjoy a guided tour of our 18-acre property and “Eat the Weeds” on a foraging walk.
- Learn about volunteering opportunities and how to sign up.

Native Sedge Meadow Design Workshop

Are you ready to convert lawn into habitat? Are you seeking an approach that is calmer to the eye with a native plant palette that is shorter than traditional meadows? Join fellow native garden enthusiasts to learn about versatile native sedges and to activate our collaborative design as part of a lawn to sedge meadow conversion on the Homefields grounds!
Elyse Jurgen, owner of Waxwing EcoWorks Co., is a community collaborator working to rebuild ecological literacy and biodiversity through hands-on ecological gardening experiences in South Central PA.
Poetry and Ecology

In this class, we’ll study work that is in conversation with the natural world as well as the intersections of poetry and ecology. We’ll engage in writing experiments inspired by what we learn. Participants will leave with new writers to read and several new poems of their own.
JenMarie Macdonald is a Lancaster-based writer, book artist, and publisher, with work in Bone Bouquet and The Trinity Review. JenMarie has taught writing and book arts in PCA&D’s Center for Creative Exploration since 2020.
Yoga for All

Maggie Mowery is a certified Alignment Yoga instructor, as well as a certified Hatha Yoga instructor. She has been practicing yoga for over 20 years and teaching since 2017.

Sharing Recipes and the History of Your Farm Share
Homefields Farm Almanac focuses on a weekly theme related to: Native Plants at Homefields, Foraging for Edibles and Flowers, Sharing Recipes and Cultural History of your Homefields Share, Counting Butterflies, and Pollinators at Homefields. Expert guests will be invited and participants will be encouraged to keep a journal or make and entry for the Homefields Almanac. Come as often as you like and bring a journal or use our materials.
Note: This class is $10 per family. If you attended a Maggie Mowery’s Yoga for All class (above) and bring your ticket / receipt, we’ll knock that down to $3!
Carol Welsh has been a lifetime educator and a nature Journal artist with PA Council on the Arts, a member of the Lancaster Butterfly and Entomology Club, Muhlenberg Botanical Group and a regular presenter at the North Museum and other venues.
